Frequently asked questions
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format used by iPhones starting from iPhone 7 with iOS 11. It takes up half the space of JPG while maintaining the same quality, but is not compatible with all software and devices.
Windows does not include native HEIC support by default. You can install the HEIC codec from the Microsoft Store (paid) or simply convert your photos to JPG with this tool for free.
